Hopp’s Sound is a small business with a total of four employees. Brian, the owner, has been in business for just over 20 years. His business started in 2003 by focusing on residential customers, but quickly grew into both residential and commercial settings. While the business was originally located outside of Marquette, after a few years in business, Brian purchased a storefront just off downtown McPherson. The business still sits on East Euclid Street in McPherson. Early on, Brian was a one-man team. He handled all business aspects including project management, product research, installations, and maintenance of existing projects. Some of his notable projects over the years include Kansas Municipal Utilities Board rooms, Pioneer Bluff’s education center, CHS Training Center rooms, and many churches and schools around the McPherson area.

Once the business grew too big for Brian to do by himself, he hired additional help. Don Fager was hired in 2018 and quickly began to handle the residential side of the business, allowing Brian to focus more on commercial projects..

When the pandemic hit in 2020, there was a large demand for digital platforms including video conferencing. During that time, Brian hired Joel Morey as Systems Designer to help with commercial project planning and installations. Joel grew up in McPherson, but moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2017 where he worked at SeaWorld San Antonio. During his time there, Joel was the Assistant Supervisor of Audio/Video. This role included overseeing theatrical show operations, atmospheric audio installations and maintenance, and managing a team of around 20 employees for day to day operations.
